SOUTHERN LEYTE, Philippines — A magnitude-3.3 earthquake rocked parts of Southern Leyte yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake occurred at 8:19 a.m. and was located 11 kilometers southeast of Silago town.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Silago and Intensity 2 in Hinunangan and Abuyog, also in Southern Leyte.
The temblor, which was tectonic in origin, was not expected to cause damage to property or generate aftershocks, Phivolcs said.
