MANILA, Philippines — At least 100 families were left homeless after a fire broke out at the Parola Compound in Tondo, Manila yesterday morning.
Arson probers said four persons, including a fire volunteer, were injured in the fire that lasted three hours.
Reports said the fire started on the second floor of a two-story house owned by Joel Montillado along Area-B, Gate 10 at around 10:45 a.m.
At least 50 houses were razed to the ground, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The blaze was declared under control at around 1:45 p.m.
Arson investigators said faulty electricial wiring could have caused the fire.
