2 carjackers slain in shootout

Probers recovered two handguns and bullet shells from the scene of the encounter.

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines —   Two suspected carjackers were killed in an alleged encounter with police officers in Moncada, Tarlac on Friday.

Police have yet to identify the fatalities, who reportedly stole a motorcycle in Barangay Camangaan East, according to Col. David Poklay, chief of the Tarlac police.

Pursuing police officers cornered the suspects in the nearby village of  Camangaan West, where the alleged firefight ensued.

Probers recovered two handguns and bullet shells from the scene of the encounter. 

A manhunt was launched for the third suspect, who fled on a motorcycle.
