3 die in Pangasinan road mishaps

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines — Three persons died while seven others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in this city on Saturday.

Reports reaching the Pangasinan police identified the fatalities as Jerry Idos, Leonardo Castaneto and Bernard Estioko, all of Barangay San Vicente.

Idos, Castaneto and Estioko were declared dead on arrival in separate hospitals, where Acedelio Castaneto, Harold Narcisa, Mary Ann Padilla, DJ Quiming, Freda Pineda, Joana Quinto and Orlando Quinto were also taken for treatment of injuries.

Reports said Quiming and Idos were driving their tricycles with Pineda and the Castanetos on board, respectively, when they were hit by a bus driven by Narcisa in Barangay Nancayasan.

The bus slammed into a house and destroyed the fence of a nearby business establishment.

Narcisa reportedly fell asleep while driving.

Meanwhile, Estioko was traveling in Barangay Anonas when his tricycle collided with a truck driven by Niko Jon Salaysay of San Miguel, Bulacan.

Estioko’s vehicle hit a tricycle driven by Ferdinand Padilla with Mary Ann on board.
