MANILA, Philippines — A former activist is accusing transport leader George San Mateo of sexual harassment.

TV5 reported that the young woman, called “Maxine,” met San Mateo in 2013 when he was president of PISTON – the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide – during street protests. At the time, the woman was a graduating student at the Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Maxine showed text messages on her cell phone that she said were sent by San Mateo. In one of the messages, the sender asked her about the color and type of lingerie she wore. In another, he said he would fantasize about Maxine’s “sexy gorgeous” photos.

TV5 failed to get San Mateo’s reaction to the accusation, which Maxine said she was reviving because of the lack of action on her complaint.

San Mateo said yesterday he will issue a statement on the allegations soon.
