MANILA, Philippines — A policeman was arrested as he was on duty at the Eastern Police District headquarters yesterday morning.
Police Officer 2 Edgar Santos was served a warrant for estafa by Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) operatives.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Don Ace Marlano Alagar of the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 42 in connection with a P1-million vehicle franchise business, probers said.
While his arrest was not “service-related,” the CITF noted that Santos was charged with robbery extortion before the Department of Justice on Jan. 3.
Santos was one of the policemen who allegedly extorted P100,000 from Rosanna Lozada in Marikina on Dec. 10, 2018, the CITF said. – Robertzon Ramirez
