30 families displaced in Binondo fire

MANILA, Philippines —   At least 30 families were left homeless when a fire struck a residential area in Binondo, Manila yesterday.

The Manila Fire Department said the blaze broke out at a three-story house at the corner of Penarubia and Delpan streets in Barangay 272 at around 10 a.m.

The flames quickly spread to other houses in the area.

The fire reached the third alarm before it was declared under control at past 11 a.m.

Arson probers said no one was hurt in the incident. Damage to property was estimated at P100,000.
