MANILA, Philippines — A man and his 22-year-old son were wounded after they accepted the challenge of two security guards to a fight in Tondo, Manila yesterday.
Romero Teodoro, 53, suffered a gunshot to the chest while his son, Junior, was hit in the arm.
The Teodoros were taken to the Tondo General Hospital for treatement.
Security guards Jimmy Hungduan, 41, and Ronald Aniñon were arrested after the incident, according to Manila Police District Station 1 commander Superintendent Jay Dimaandal.
Dimaandal said Hungduan and Aniñon challenged everyone to a fight at the corner of Velasquez and Jacinto streets at around 12:20 p.m.
The Teodoros accepted the challenge but instead of engaging in a fistfight, the security guards fired at them.
