MANILA, Philippines — A man jumped to his death from a condominium building in Quezon City on Monday.
The unidentified man, clad in a white t-shirt and checkered short pants, allegedly committed suicide at the condominium in Barangay Bago Bantay at around 11:22 p.m. .
A report from the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said a security guard heard a loud thud in his area. When he went outside, he saw the victim sprawled on the ground.
The victim was brought to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a mall on North EDSA at around 12:12 p.m. the same day.
Police identified the victim as Girlie Buan-Mercado, a resident of Navotas City.
Witnesses told probers Mercado removed her sandals, stood on a monobloc chair and leaped to her death. She landed on a food stall but no other persons were hurt.
Security guards brought her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at around 1 p.m.
