MANILA, Philippines — A man on the police drug watchlist was gunned down by an unidentified assailant in Pasig City Wednesday.
Al Beltran was categorized as a pusher and user on the Pasig police’s drug watchlist, said Chief Superintendent Reynaldo Biay, Eastern Police District director.
Beltran was standing in front of a store along E. Santos street in Barangay Bambang when the assailant shot him repeatedly at around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, police reported.
Beltran died at the scene.
Senior Superintendent Orlando Yebra Jr., city police chief, said investigators recovered several bullet casings from an unknown firearm at the crime scene.
Yebra theorized that Beltran might have been killed due to his alleged links to the illegal drug trade.
