ITOGON, Benguet , Philippines — A miner cheated death in a tunnel in Itogon, Benguet over the weekend.
Gilbert Simon, 69, was trapped in a mine tunnel in the Antamok mine pit when it collapsed as he was gathering his tools on Saturday.
Simon was rescued at about 9:45 a.m. on Sunday. He was taken to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment for dehydration.
