MANILA, Philippines - An employee fired by an executive of a firm selling personal products, who was shot dead by unidentified men last Thursday, has gone missing, an official said yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said police officers who paid a visit last Friday to the home of the employee – considered a person of interest in the murder of Amy Rose Gasmen – was nowhere to be found.
Eleazar declined to disclose the person’s identity as police investigators still need to gather evidence of his involvement in Gasmen’s killing.
Gasmen, a 41-year-old single mother, was shot dead by two assailants riding a motorcycle along Zabarte Road in Barangay Kaligayahan.
The victim was driving a Toyota Tamaraw as she was heading to her home in Barangay Villa Maria Clara when the suspects shot her.
Responding policemen brought Gasmen to the Bernardino Hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival from several gunshot wounds.
Police officers are looking into the possibility that Gasmen’s killing was work-related after receiving information that Gasmen recently fired an employee.
