ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Mujiv Hataman on Saturday recommended to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to place scalawag cops in the frontline battle with the military against the Abu Sayyaf group.

This was Hataman’s suggestion following PNP's plan to transfer about 200 rogue cops from the National Capital Region to Mindanao.

Hataman said the deployment of the erring police personnel would be effective if they are placed in the frontline to run after the militants in Al-Barka town.

“Kung ilalagay lang sila sa headquarters, baka dagdag lang sila sa administrative problem,” Hataman said.

According to Hataman, the deployment of rogue cops from Metro Manila would be an additional burden to the PNP-ARMM since they also have many problems involving their personnel.

“Pero kung ang gagawin nila diyan ay isama sa Armed Forces (in the operation), kahit papano ay makatulong. Pwede silang magbantay, pwede silang magluto o pwede silang tumulong gumawa ng transcentral road,” the ARMM governor said.
