MANILA, Philippines – Employees who will report for work today will receive extra pay, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said yesterday.
Bonifacio Day is a non-working holiday.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said under the holiday pay rules, a worker would be paid 200 percent of his regular salary for the day, including Cost of Living Allowance for the first eight hours of work.
“If employees worked in excess of eight hours of overtime work, they will be paid an additional 30 percent,” Bello said.
An employee who would report for work during his day off would be paid an additional 30 percent on top of the 200 percent pay.
Bello advised employers to comply with the holiday pay rules.
