MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has issued the guidelines on the distribution and titling of landed estates.
Secretary Rafael Mariano said the DAR is mandated under Republic Act 9700, the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms or CARPER Law to complete the distribution of lands covered by CARP, including landed estates acquired by the government and financed by the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).
Mariano said the transfer of title of landed estates acquired by LBP and turned over to the DAR is not subject to any tax.
“The qualified awardee, tiller, claimant or applicant may be awarded an area not exceeding three hectares of farm lot...which may cover a contiguous tract of land or several parcels of land and one home lot not exceeding 1,000 square meters,” he said.
Mariano said a certificate of land ownership shall be issued to the awardee or his heir provided there are no claimants or claims filed in any court as well as order of award or certificate of land title issued in favor of others.
