Troops recover war materials in Zambo

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - Government troops recovered war materials abandoned in the outskirt of Patikul town, Sulu by an Abu Sayyaf member who snuck into a hospital to seek medical help, according to military official.

Col. Alan Arrojado, chief of the Joint Task Group Sulu (JTGS), said the troops under the 35th Infantry Battalion were scouring Monday morning the vicinity of the mountain of Bud Uwak, Barangay Bangkal when they discovered the militant’s possessions.

The war materialw include a radio transceivers, three extra batteries with charger, a set of battle dress uniform, a pair of combat boots, two jungle hammocks, a laminated sack for tent, and a motorcycle without document.

Arrojado said the troops traced the war materials which belonged to a suspected Abu Sayyaf member named Apal Hassan who entered a hospital. 

Police forces were immediately alerted to conduct saturation for the arrest of the militant.
