DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The government has earmarked P384.68 million for road projects in Southern Mindanao under the Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan at Daan Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran or Kalsada program.
Compostela Valley will receive P85.63 million; Davao del Norte, P100.96 million; Davao Oriental, P111.19 million; and Davao del Sur, P86.91 million.
Edgar Melo, Department of the Interior and Local Government Davao region director, said the funds would be released to the provincial government through the Local Government Support Fund.
Melo said the provincial government would provide a counterpart fund and implement the project.
The Kalsada project, which has a total allocation of P6.5 billion, aims to rehabilitate 61.5 kilometers of roads, improve 24.6 kms and upgrade 12.3 kms in each province.
