P11.4 M marijuana plants uprooted

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union, Philippines – Anti-drug operatives uprooted and destroyed marijuana plants worth P11.4 million during an operation in Barangay Bayabas San Gabriel in La Union yesterday.

The marijuana plants were discovered by members of the San Gabriel police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in  a 5,700-square-meter plantation, Senior Superintendent Angelito Dumangeng, La Union police director, said.

“The cultivators of the marijuana plants fled when they sensed that our troops were conducting operations,” Dumangeng said.
