91 nabbed in SPD anti-crime sweep

MANILA, Philippines - A week-long anti-crime operation that was started last December 20 by the Southern Police District (SPD) ended with the arrest of some 91 suspected criminals.

According to the SPD, out of the 91 arrested, 10 are listed as among the “top 10 target illegal drugs personalities” of the district.

The SPD identified them as Elemr Jamir from Muntinlupa City, Wilfredo Cruz from Pateros, Adrian Camacho from Pasay City, Richard Bactad from Taguig City, Racquel Nacional from Pateros, Samy Leyros from Parañaque, Felicidad Cusi from Las Piñas, Cesar Aligada from Makati, Cecilio Asaytono from Las Piñas, and Samy Mark Manalo from Parañaque.

Meanwhile, a total of 1.9 kilos of suspected shabu were confiscated during the week-long “One Time Big Time Operation.”

Also confiscated during the anti-crime drive were four handguns and assorted ammunition.

SPD director, Chief Superintendent Henry Rañola has ordered all SPD units and the local police units in the various cities and municipality covered by the district to intensify their anti-crime drives.

“This operation aims to intensify the effectiveness of every police operations and to assure the community that they can enjoy the yuletide season without any untoward incidents,” said Rañola.
