MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday announced that it is lifting the number coding for "Undas" or the observance of All Souls' Day.
Number coding scheme lifting will be implemented on Friday, October 30 and will resume Monday, November 2.
The MMDA said provincial buses are exempted from the suspension of the number coding.
Motorists have yet to wait for the announcement of Makati City for the lifting of the number coding scheme in its city, according to the MMDA.
The MMDA lifted the coding system in observance of the All Souls' Day where the public is expected to visit deceased love ones in cemeteries.
The agency aims to ease traffic congestion as the public’s cemetery visits are foreseen to cause heavy traffic.
