LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Philippines – The municipal government honored its outstanding citizens and exemplary government and private institutions and entities in a ceremony marking the town’s 400th anniversary celebration.
Among the honorees were five outstanding citizens, five exemplary government agencies and a philanthropic group; 25 exemplary individuals, government and private academic and research institutions, civic organizations, and five corporations.
The municipal government presented the awardees with plaques and certificates of recognition.
The celebration highlighted the historical, cultural, educational, business, sports, and tourism legacies of the town, which was established on Sept. 17, 1615.
Named outstanding citizens were public elementary school teacher Rainiel Victor Crisologo, public high school teacher Francisco Panopio Jr., municipal department head Lolita Leviste, Roberto Bautista Jr. for the professional category and Senior Police Officer 2 Julian de Vera.
The Autism Society Philippines-Laguna chapter was cited as outstanding civic society organization for establishing the Los Baños community center for therapy intervention and support services.
