Negros farmers get tractors

MANILA, Philippines - Four tractors worth at least P12.3 million were turned over to farmer-beneficiaries in Negros Oriental, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said over the weekend.

The tractors, implemented under the agrarian reform community connectivity and economic support services program, will help farmers improve their lives and produce, according to DAR regional director Alejandro Otacan.

The program is an alternative rural development approach wherein support services provided by the DAR are delivered directly to select agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations.

The equipment was received by provincial agrarian reform program officer Louie Naranjo in behalf of the beneficiaries.
