KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – The Kidapawan City police is now in custody since Wednesday of a 35-year-old farmer who molested his two grade school daughters every time their mother was out running errands.
Senior Inspector Samuel Bascon, deputy Kidapawan City police director, on Friday said the victims’ mother assured probers she will cooperate in prosecuting the suspect to the fullest extent of law.
Bascon declined to reveal the identity of the suspect and his victims in keeping with social welfare regulations.
“He will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of law,” Bascon said.
Bascon said they learned of the sexual abuses of the suspect from the news team of a popular radio outfit, the Catholic station dxND in Kidapawan City.
It was the grandfather of the two children who first reported the case to dxND, one of six stations in Central Mindanao of the influential Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation, convinced the media entity can help expedite the arrest of the culprit.
The suspect is now detained at the city jail awaiting prosecution.
