'PDEA agent' yields various ammunitions in QC

A man who introduced himself as an anti-narcotics agent was nabbed in Quezon City for not wearing a helmet while riding his motorbike and for yielding various firearms ammunition. 

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a man who introduced himself to be an operative of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a checkpoint in Quezon City after yielding several assorted firearms ammunition. 

Members of the Anonas police station hauled to jail Roel Velasco, 34, of Tata Andres, Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City.

On Sunday, policemen flagged down Velasco after he was spotted not wearing a helmet while speeding on his motorcycle along Katipunan Avenue around 10:45 p.m. 

Velasco reportedly did not produce any driver's license when asked by policemen. 

While inspecting the vehicle, authorities also found several types of ammunition and bullets for a  shotgun, M-16 assault rifle, cal. 45 pistol, cal. 9mm, and cal. 38 revolver stashed under the motorcycle's seat. 

Velasco is a now facing violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms Law and Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
