MANILA, Philippines - Water supply in several barangays in San Mateo and Rodriguez in Rizal will be cut from 10 p.m. on March 15 to 10 p.m. on March 18.
The water interruption will allow a seismic retrofitting project at the East Zone water concessionaire, the Manila Water Company Inc. said.
The project, which is part of company’s natural calamity mitigation plan, involves the installation of seismic joints along the 1.3-meter diameter transmission line in Rodriguez, Rizal.
Manila Water said water pipes are at risk of breakage or collapse in the event of a magnitude 7.2 earthquake.
