MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Rail Transit's (MRT) operation was disrupted again on Friday morning due to a another glitch.
MRT General Manager Roman Buenafe said that the driver had to stop an MRT train at the Buendia Station after noticing that the automatic train protection (ATP) was deployed at around 8 a.m.
"So the driver decided to unload the passengers at Ayala station," Buenafe said, adding that the MRT management has yet to determine if there were passengers hurt during the sudden stop of the train.He said that the unloaded passengers were picked up by the next train.
"Nakasakay naman sila dun sa kasunod na mga train para isakay sila sa next two stations," he added.Prior to the incident, MRT trains had experienced glitches in the ATP braking system.
