MANILA, Philippines - Zamboanga Sibugay marked yesterday its 17th founding anniversary with weeklong festivities, including an exhibition game of the Philippine Basketball Association, job fairs and a medical outreach program.
A free legal clinic, distribution of tool kits to Technical Education and Skills Development Authority trainees, fruit tree seeding distribution and animal dispersal were also conducted.
The occasion coincides with the birthday of the province’s founding father George Hofer.
“We are celebrating our founding father’s birthday and legacy. Beyond that we are celebrating Zamboanga Sibugay’s continuing prosperity,” Zamboanga Sibugay Rep. Ann Hofer said in a statement.
