MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested on Thursday the suspect in the series of robberies in commercial establishments in Quezon City and Antipolo City.

Operatives of the Quezon City Police District apprehended the Mark Soque, 29, during an operation at Ever Gotesco along Commonwealth Avenue on Thursday morning.

Police said Soque usually molests and sometimes rapes his female victims.

Soque was also responsible for the killing of a Korean woman when he robbed a coffee shop in Don Antonio Heights last Monday, police added.

Soque was mobbed by some of his victims when he was presented to QCPD Director Joel Pagdilao.

Mayor Herbert Bautista, who was also in Pagdilao's office, reportedly punched and kicked the robbery suspect.

One of the suspect's victims positively identified Soque as the one who robbed and raped her.

The suspect faces several charges for robbery with homicide, illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs.
