MANILA, Philippines- Police nabbed a suspected kidnapper during an operation in Cebu City, rescuing the five-year-old victim Tuesday night.
Allan Ramos Quilbo, 58, a native of Gerona, Tarlac, is now facing criminal charges for kidnapping the five-year-old boy, whose parents are his co-workers in their church.
Investigation showed that Quilbo managed to allegedly take the victim to buy a coloring book at a store in Bacolod City last January 4 after he asked permission from the boy's parents.
Quilbo contacted the victim's parents and asked for P16,000 in exchange for the safe release of the boy.
However, after they deposited the ransom money to the suspect's bank account, the victim was not released, prompting authorities to launch a rescue operation.
On the night of January 20, authorities located and swooped down on the suspect's safehouse at the Montecarlos Pension House and Dormitory along Pelaez Extension, Cebu City, safely rescuing the victim.
The minor is now reunited with his parents after undergoing medical examination and stress debriefing.
