TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Six people died in separate road accidents in Isabela and Pangasinan on Monday.
Motorcycle driver Jay-ar Guillen and his companion Flores Telan died when they hit a van driven by businessman Renz Tongol as they tried to overtake another vehicle in Cauayan City, Isabela at around 11:30 p.m., said Superintendent Mariano Rodriguez, city police chief.
The victims, who were allegedly drunk, were pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.
Three persons died and another was critically injured when two motorcycles collided in another incident along the national highway in Barangay Bulanao, Tabuk City in Kalinga, according to Police Officer 3 Tony Banao.
Banao identified the fatalities as Devin Godayon, Darwin Bon-as and Montano Adis. Melvin Pascua remains confined at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.
In Dasol town in Pangasinan, six-year-old Kevin Patrick Ribucayu was run over by a Mitsubishi L-300 van in Barangay Eguia. He was declared dead on arrival at the Dasol Community Hospital.
The driver of the van, Nordel dela Cruz, surrendered.
