MANILA, Philippines - The Southern Police District (SPD) has managed to arrest 213 suspects during a weeklong anti-criminality drive.
SPD director Chief Supt. Henry Rañola said that from October 27 to November 2, the district launched 5,452 various anti-crime operations.
Ranola said that anti-illegal drug trafficking operations resulted in the arrests of 10 suspects in Makati City, nine in Las Piñas City, six in Pasay City, three in Taguig City and one each on Muntinlupa City and Parañaque City. During the operations, anti-drug operatives were also able to seize 3,914 grams of shabu and 90.86 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
The SPD was also able to recover 38 suspected stolen motorcycles and nine loose guns.
Meanwhile, the SPD was also able to serve warrants for the arrest of 42 “wanted” suspects. Of this number, 17 were arrested in Pasay City, eight in Pasay, eight in Parañaque, seven in Muntinlupa, five in Makati and one each from Taguig and Pateros.
Ranola added that the conduct of daily proactive police security patrols has resulted in 5,142 operations and the arrest of 129 suspects.
In Muntinlupa City, the SPD said police arrested Wildeite Pagkalinawan who was ranked as the “7th Most Wanted Person at the SPD” while a Stanley Provido was arrested in Pateros.
Provido, said the SPD, is a member of the Erol Bautista Robbery Carnap Group, a crime group based in Pateros.
