MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has apprehended a suspected drug den owner and five of his customers during a buy-bust operation in Capiz.
The PDEA identified the suspects as Franklin Aguirre, 50, alleged drug den owner, of Barangay San Francisco, Tapaz, Capiz; Melanie Burgos, 34, a storekeeper; Rosalie Gardose, 21, a cashier; Leo Leasos, 39, a marine engineer; Dione Ladrido, 47, a farmer; and Sarix Gamayao, 50.
The PDEA said its agents arrested Aguirre after selling shabu to a poseur buyer in his house being utilized as a drug den in Barangay San Francisco last October 5.
Seized during the operation were three sachets of shabu, eight disposable lighters, two mobile phones and various drug paraphernalia.
Aguirre will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
A separate case for violation of Section 7 (Visitors of a Drug Den) will be filed against the five drug den customers.
