TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A farmer allegedly hacked to death a fellow farmer and his two sons in Barangay Viga in Lasam town, Cagayan last week.
Lasam police chief Inspector Leon Umbrero identified the victims as Benito Suguitan and his sons Judito and Joel.
Initial investigation showed that an apparently drunk Romel Banza sneaked inside the victims’ hut while they were sleeping and hacked them one after another. The suspect had previously berated the victims, whom he accused of destroying his crops.
Banza has been arrested.
