MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – More than 20 alleged members of a religious cult were held for killing a police officer in Parang town last Sunday.
Police said the suspects, who belong to the “Pulahan” religious group, were arrested for killing Police Officer 1 Kamar Rahid.
Village officials said the men, armed with machetes and whose heads were wrapped in red cloth, attacked Rahid at his house in Barangay Making.
Pursuing policeman arrested the suspects in another village several hours after the killing.
