LAGUNA, Philippines – After six years in hiding, an inmate who escaped during a mass jailbreak in 2008 in this province was finally arrested at his house in Biñan City last Friday.
Adolfo Tanael was arrested when he visited his family in Barangay San Antonio at around 2:45 p.m., said city police chief Superintendent Noel Aliño.
Aliño said Tanael was the last of the 16 fugitives to be arrested after they bolted a facility of the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology in October 2008.
Tanael, who is reportedly facing drugs and robbery cases, hid in Bicol and Mindanao after the jailbreak.
“He concealed his identity by using different names until we cornered him in his house with the help of the concerned citizens,” Aliño said.
