MANILA, Philippines - One was hurt after a fire broke at a residential area in Quezon City early Monday morning, razing at least 10 houses.
The blaze, which started around 5:13 a.m., began on Sto. Domingo Street, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, a radio report said.
Quoting the local Bureau of Fire Protection, the report said that around 23 families were rendered homeless by the blaze, which was traced to the residence of a certain Andres Bermejo.
The flames quickly spread to adjacent houses in the area because the structures were very near to each other, the report added.
Firefighters managed to put out the blaze 40 minutes later.
Arson investigators are still looking at the cause of the fire.
