CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – All victims of food poisoning in Medina town in Misamis Oriental last Monday have been discharged from hospitals.
Medina Vice Mayor Kimboy Ochegue said they are investigating the incident believed caused by food served during a fiesta in Barangay San Vicente.
Ochegue said the food was prepared Sunday night and served for lunch the following day.
Most of the victims were children as classes were suspended for the Feast of San Vicente celebration.
The victims suffered dizziness, stomach pain, headache and vomiting after eating rice noodles, beef and pork packed in cellophane bags.
Reports said at least 200 were hospitalized.
Local officials said it was the first time that such an incident occurred in Barangay San Vicente.
