LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines – A ranking member of the Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines was arrested in Iloilo City on Tuesday, the Cordillera police said yesterday.
Eduardo Almores Esteban, with aliases Ka Bonnie, Ka Benny and Ka Pio and a P5.8-million bounty on his head, was caught in Land Heights Subdivision in Barangay Buntatala, Jaro.
Cordillera police director Chief Superintendent Isagani Nerez said Esteban is ranked first in the order of battle during the second quarter of the year.
Esteban was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Abra Regional Trial Court Branch 2 Judge Corpuz Alzate for murder.
Esteban, who according to Nerez operates with his group in the Cordillera, also had warrants of arrest for murder, frustrated murder and rebellion in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.
