SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Two men were killed while another was seriously wounded when they were shot by a man who held up passengers of a northbound Genesis bus in Moncada, Tarlac last Tuesday, authorities said.
Police said the suspect, Reynald de la Cruz, 35, who boarded the bus in Gerona, Tarlac, fired his 9-mm Llama pistol upon declaring the holdup in Moncada, fatally hitting Carlos Almonte, 68, and his companion, Jecson Ibanez, 25.
The bus conductor, who was not identified, was able to get off the bus as De la Cruz collected valuables from the passengers, and sought police help.
De la Cruz got off the bus in San Manuel town, and there tried to grab the motorcycle of resident Reynante Arciaga, 47, who resisted.
De la Cruz shot and wounded Arciaga, catching the attention of bystanders who held him until policemen arrived.
