BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Two men were killed while two others sustained injuries after their Toyota Hi-ace van plunged into a 500-meter deep ravine in Aguinaldo, Ifugao before dawn Monday.
Reports identified the fatalities as van driver Edward Duligas and Clifford Fawayan, 30, and those injured as Ramon Gagaoin, 60, and Felly Borbe, 48.
Reports said Duligas might have fallen asleep while negotiating a steep stretch of the mountain road in Aguinaldo town, causing the van to fall off the cliff.
The victims were en route to Mayaoyao town from Baguio City to deliver uniforms for the municipal employees when they met the accident. – Charlie Lagasca, Raymund Catindig
