MANILA, Philippines - A tornado hit the coastal village of Binaliw in the Tinambacan district of Calbayog City last Thursday morning, toppling 85 houses made of light materials and injuring three men.
Superintendent Glenn Cinco, Calbayog police chief, identified the injured as Rodelio Arabis, Ronel Espino and Rodney Basilan. Only Basilan was admitted to the Calbayog City Hospital as the other two only had slight injuries.
Meanwhile, heavy rains brought by a low-pressure area have flooded many areas of Calbayog City. A PAL Express plane from Manila had to turn back because of the heavy rains and zero visibility.
