MANILA, Philippines - A Pope Francis Complex Center for the Poor would rise in Palo, Leyte in time for the reported visit of Pope Francis to areas hit by Typhoon Yolanda in January next year.
Church-run Radio Veritas reported that the Archdiocese of Palo, Leyte headed by Archbishop John Du would soon start the construction of the center in the compound of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lord’s Transfiguration.
The center would include homes for the elderly, a clinic, and a chapel.
Du said funds for the center would come from the Pontifical Council Cor Unum for Human and Christian Development of the Vatican.
