MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City policeman was killed while two others were wounded after they were ambushed during an anti-drug operation in Cavite on Monday.
Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the casualty as a certain Senior Police Officer 3 Alejandro Came from the Quezon City Police District.
Meanwhile, the wounded during the ambush were Alvic Martin, reportedly an informant of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency; and Police Officer 1 Leonard Sayagadoro.
Initial report said that the victims, along with PDEA agent Ramiro de Guzman, were conducting a surveillance along Molino Road, Brgy. Molino 3, Bacoor City around 3 a.m. when two men on a motorcycle, and a van stopped near them.
The one of the men on the motorbike and occupants of the van suddenly drew high powered weapons and fired upon the victims who were on board an Innova car.
The gunmen escaped right after the shooting.
Police are still investigating the incident.
