MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.7 earthquake struck off Davao Occidental province, Friday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 32 kilometers southeast of Sarangani town in Davao Occidental, at 1:44 p.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at a depth of 113 kilometers.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Davao City and Mati City in Davao Oriental; Intensity 3 in Bislig, Surigao del Sur and Tagum City; and Intensity 1 in Gingoog, Misamis Oriental.
Phivolcs said it is expecting aftershocks.
