MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – Three persons including two pilots and a woman cheated death when a training plane crashed on a house owned by a doctor in Plaridel town yesterday afternoon.
Although unhurt, pilots Arturo Salazar and Muhammad Kashmir Jim Amad were rushed to the La Consolacion Hospital along with house caretaker Eleanor Baluyot, said Superintendent Amado Mendoza, town police chief.
Mendoza said the accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. shortly after a Cessna 152 training plane took-off from the Plaridel airport.
The plane fell on the roof of a house owned by Leonel Juguilion in Sitio Diker, Barangay Lumang Bayan.
Liz Mungcal, head of the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office, said the incident was still under investigation as of press time.
She said investigators have yet to determine if the crash was caused by pilot error or mechanical trouble.
Over a year ago, a training plane piloted by an Indonesian and a Filipino crashed on a rice field in Barangay Tabon, Pulilan town. No one was killed or hurt in that incident.
