Baguio massacre suspect surrenders to Isko -report

MANILA, Philippines - The suspect in the massacre of five persons, including three children, in Baguio City last Sunday has surrendered to Manila City vice mayor Isko Moreno.

A radio report said that Philip Tolentino Avino, 31, approached his brother and an aunt to arrange his surrender to the city official.

Avino, however, denied allegation that he was behind the killing of  Dave de Guzman, 7; Raymond Delmendo, 8; Joey Nociete Jr., 9; Jacquelyn Nociete, 19; and Jonalyn Lozano, 32; whose bodies found inside the rented apartment at the fourth floor of the building on Kayang Street.

He said he was onboard a bus that day going to Pasay City.

Avino claimed he was framed up for the crime.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, the Baguio City police hope that Avino would cooperate in the investigation for the early resolution of the case.
