MANILA, Philippines - Police yesterday filed charges of illegal possession of illegal drugs and firearms against a Nigerian national who yielded more than 1.5 kilos of shabu during a raid in Laguna on Wednesday.
Charged before the San Pablo City prosecutor’s office was Alphonce Alla, 38, whose passport shows that he is a tourist in the country.
Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, Laguna police director, said no bail was recommended for Alla, who chose to remain silent on the charges against him.
Armed with a search warrant, police raided Alla’s rented house in Barangay Sto. Anghel, San Pablo City and seized at least 22 grams of shabu and a .22-caliber revolver. A police asset led police to a dirty kitchen where at least 1.5 kilos of shabu was dug up.
