LAGUNA, Philippines – A 22-year-old computer technician met his untimely death yesterday morning when a motorist, whose car was bumped by the victim’s shuttle bus in Sta. Rosa City, fired a gun, with the bullet hitting him in the head.
The victim, Frances Falculan, did not reach the Medical Center Hospital in Sta. Rosa alive.
PO2 Romeo Nieva Contreras said Falculan and his colleagues were on their way to work when their shuttle bus bumped the right portion of a maroon Mitsubishi Montero with license plate EJF-518 upon reaching the Waltermart mall center along F. Reyes Street in Barangay Balibago at around 5:15 a.m.
The incident angered the motorist who then drew his gun and fired at the shuttle bus.
Not contented, witnesses said the motorist confronted the bus driver and told him to open his window, but the driver refused.
The motorist left minutes later. Falculan collapsed in his seat with blood oozing from his head.
Police recovered an empty shell and a deformed slug of a .45-caliber pistol at the scene.
Police are coordinating with the Land Transportation Office to identify the motorist.
