LAGUNA, Philippines – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating the rape-slay of a five months’ pregnant woman whose body was found in San Pablo City last Feb. 12.
Jocelyn Prado, mother of victim Alelie Prado, sought the assistance of NBI-Laguna to handle the investigation into her daughter’s killing.
Senior Superintendent Faustino Manzanilla, investigation chief of the Region 4-A police, said the NBI is now in charge of the probe and the local police were fully cooperating with the agency.
Manzanilla said police have identified three men, including a policeman, as possible suspects.
Prado’s body was dumped on a road a meter away from Sampaloc Lake in San Pablo City.
Police said there were indications that Prado was sexually molested before she was killed. She had stab wounds in the chest and had no underwear, and a piece of cloth was stuffed in her mouth.
