MANILA, Philippines - Seven suspected drug pushers were killed on Friday during a shootout with authorities in Davao City during a raid on an alleged shabu tiangge.
Quoting the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group spokesperson Superintendent Elizabeth Jasmin, radio reports said joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Davao City police and CIDG swooped down on Brgy. Ilang, Tibungco, Davao City.
The authorities were serving a total of 26 search warrants following reports of a shabu tiangge operating in the area.
The raid was also conducted after authorities received information of a reported cache of several high powered firearms being stored in the area, reports added.
Anti-narcotics agents and policemen also apprehended a total of 20 persons during the operation.
